Dollar Dance |

The Dollar Dance is when the guests get there chance to dance with the
Bride or Groom. The Best Man is at the head of the line for the Bride and the Maid of Honor is at the head of the line for the Groom. The Guests form one Line for the Groom and one line for the Bride. The Guests then give one dollar or more and have a short time to dance with the Bride or Groom. At times the Bride and Groom prefer not to do this dance. If they do choose not to they must remember that many of their quests will be disappointed and sometimes even upset. The two biggest reasons for the Bride and Groom not to have the Dollar dance are they do not want to collect money or the time it takes. There are solutions to these issues. If the Bride and Groom do not want people to give money to dance. We recommend they still do the dollar dance and either we announce that money will not be accepted or that any money collected will be given to a specific charity. If the Bride and Groom do not want to do the Dollar Dance because of the time it takes. This is a very serious issue because if the Best Man and the Maid of Honor do not perform there duties properly the Dollar Dance can last a very long time. Even if the Best Man and the Maid of Honor perform their duties properly it can still take a long time. There are solutions to this problem. First the Best Man and Maid of Honor can not let anyone dance to long with the Bride and or Groom to long. Usually 15 to 20 seconds should be sufficient. Another thing the Best Man and the Maid of Honor can do is if there are to many people wanting to dance with the Bride and Groom do not let anyone go through the line more than once. Even if the Best Man and the Maid of Honor do these things to minimize the time the Dollar Dance lasts it can still go for a very long time. The Bride and Groom should look at how many guests they have and decide how long it may take and if this amount of time is not acceptable they can put a time limit on the Dollar Dance. Often 20 or 30 minutes is the chosen time. Granted this may not give everyone a chance to dance with the Bride and Groom but it is better than nothing at all. It is the Bride and Groom's decision and they are the ones that have to dance for however long it does take. We do not recommend picking songs for this Wedding Dance. We simply play slow songs that are easy to listen to and dance to. |
