The Parent Dance also known in the past as the Father Daughter Dance.
Today it is rare that only the Father dances with the Bride. Usually the
Groom dances with his Mother also. There are occasions where the Bride and
Groom will choose separate dances for each the Mother and Father. In some
situations in the middle of the song the Bride and or Groom may switch
partners and dance with a Step Parent.
This Wedding Dance is for the Bride and or Groom and the Parents only.
There are many variations where the Bride and Groom may dance with Step
Parents or a Grand Parent. It depends on the situation.
We recommend that the Bride and Groom ask the person or persons they
are going to dance with if they have a preference for the song they would
like to dance too. It is ultimately the Bride and Groom's decision though.
The intention of this song is to give the parent or special person a
chance to dance with the Bride and or Groom. This is also a chance for the
Bride and or Groom to show their appreciation and respect for the special
person they choose to dance with. Below is a list of popular requests
for this Wedding Dance. |
